Founder story
Earthborn Products is a family-owned and operated business founded in 1997 by Marit Braemer, RN.
Marit was born in Norway and grew up living off the land. After moving to California for nursing school, she kept that same practical, natural approach while raising four children — growing fruits and vegetables, keeping chickens for eggs, baking bread, and even making peanut butter and jelly from scratch.
While working as a registered nurse in California for more than 35 years, Marit continued to live her life holistically. Her love for everything pure and natural shaped the hands-on spirit behind Earthborn Products.
At a health and wellness show, Marit met a physicist who had created a proprietary colloidal silver production process focused on extra-fine particles. They connected, and he eventually sold Marit his production equipment while teaching her the details behind the process. He passed away within two weeks, making that transfer of knowledge a meaningful part of the Earthborn story.
Marit started making colloidal silver for friends, family, and neighbors by word of mouth. Over time, people returned for more and her production grew. In 2002, she launched earthbornproducts.com, when online colloidal silver sellers were still uncommon.
Continuing the family business
Sheri Braemer now leads the day-to-day Earthborn operations from San Diego.
The business continued to grow over the years, and Marit added new products to the inventory, including Siberian Chaga Mushroom Extract. When Marit decided to retire and move to Panama, her daughter Sheri took over the business.
Sheri grew up with the same holistic, family-centered approach and had been around Earthborn's products and natural routines her whole life, so carrying the company forward was an easy and natural transition. Over time, Sheri added other mushroom tinctures to give customers more simple wellness-support options.
Sheri runs the day-to-day operations in San Diego and has expanded the business to customers and partners in the UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and more. Earthborn now produces dietary supplement, pet care, and skin care product formats and supplies products for multiple companies.
She is an avid athlete who has participated in soccer, volleyball, triathlons, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, scuba diving, rowing on the Cal Poly SLO Crew team, and Masters Rowing in San Diego. Sheri now focuses on functional fitness and loves camping, hiking, and traveling.
Sheri credits her active, holistic lifestyle and personal wellness routine for helping her live life to the fullest. She is passionate about Earthborn's products and wants to share the company’s simple, quality-focused approach with as many people and pets worldwide as possible.
